Our logos sketched

This logo is for the production company, keeping it simple but, having the consistency with the Angle font, this style is an attractive, attention seeking.

This logo, is specifically aimed at Angle our main artist. Keeping the main theme of music, there are headphones around the name, the name being in graffiti, due to the culture and the background of the artist.

Storyline change

props:

headphones.. one small, one big

note pad and pen to write bars

cast needed : ashad, one girl and one bully

ashad plays the character who is trying to improve his rapping skills, whilst he is still learning there is a bully who keeps teasing and laughing at him

there is a girl who ashad seems to have a connection with and they keep locking eyes. he wants to get better at rapping to impress her, when the bully pushes ashad a tears his headphones ashad's crush then comes across and gives him her bigger and better ones and this inspires him even more to get better at rapping.

he goes away and works hard to improve, we will show various situations where he is trying his best to master his craft. eventually he manages to become very good, the bully admits this and gives him some respect then he gets the girl (she comes across and hugs him)

traditional storyline where the underdog rises up, becomes successful and gets the girl.

Detailed:
We have had an idea/storyline change, we have moved a bit away from the young boy and older version of boy being successful, the idea now is similar but with something we felt was better to the overall video and something much more practical.

The new idea change is, we will have our fellow group member Ashad performing all the storyline shots and this is where the change is. It will be Ashad playing a character who is trying to improve and than be successful with his rapping skills. Also his motivation is slightly a girl who he has a bit of a connection with and a bully who teases him and generally is very down putting. Although in this case the bully will determine him to be better at rapping and will use this as a method to show the bully who he is a person and that he wont stand for it but, with this slightly impressing the girl as well.
A proposed  idea to show part of these ideas, is a scene where Ashad is put down again by the bully literally with a push and in this his headphones rip or break, with this the girl makes a move to Ashad for determination and gives her better pair of headphones to him. In a way this is his ignition to really be inspired and work hard and become what he wants to be, a rapper.
After a while we will have a few cut-aways and show the progress he is having, with a few shots showing the struggle as well as the progress, for these there will be various situations but eventually he does become good at rapping and is successful, the bully is than forced to  accept this and shows him the respect he deserves and just like the classic endings he ends up actually getting the girl.
The storyline part of the video should finish with the girl giving a hug to Ashad and him knowing that he has gone through being bullied and struggle of rapping to know being successful, being given respect and of course gets the girl.

Shooting Day 2

Our shooting for day 2 was successful, although we got didn't record a lot shots, we utilised the time we had. The shooting was in and around our Sixth Form, which we propose to show as a University and will soon need to record shots actually around the University.

Shooting Day 1

We had one of our important locations tested and footage some of this footage could possibly be used for the final video. This location was the rooftop of a car park on New Malden high street. We have thought of some very good ideas, for the final video, in addition we had previously learnt the importance of cut-away and saw a major opportunity to shoot some at the rooftop, we had learnt this from our research where we could see a lot of cut-away's used which allowed to let the viewer piece by piece create the location.
We had also learnt something very important to look out for whilst doing this shoot which was about the; the lighting, which could show your shadow, in addition is the, camera angle and where the camera is facing.

You may just be able to see the shadow on the bottom left, this was one of the problems we realised instantly, the cameraman needs to be placed in accordance with the artist but somewhere the artist is not deeply effected by the natural light or the camera and the cameraman is not effected, finding this position was difficult but, in the end we were able to good shots. We were able to find angles where neither would be effected, examples of this are shown below.

Risk Assessment - Shaq

one problem we may encounter is the fact that a lot of our locations are outside and therefore we become dependent on the weather, being that it is now winter and we are due to begin filming this is something we will have to take into consideration.

another problem may be the storyline, it is important to have enough story in order to run throughout the video. in our case we may have to much, this is only if we successfully execute all the shots we plan to. if we do then we will have to ensure we maintain the balance between storyline and performance. which is okay considering the general rule in music video being that it is better to have too much footage to choose from than not enough footage for what you need.

along with this we have to establish a few main locations or shots that we often refer back to in order to give the video stability. if you used too many random locations the video will appear messy and har to grasp.

Locations

Here we have some locations we have planned to shoot at:
